Orange octane

So I was recently in the market for a new hydration pack. My old one would chaff under the arms and was not of great quality. So after a couple of different visits to a couple of stores I settled on something within budget and functional.

I am the new owner of an orange (which is my favourite colour) octane Camelbak. It holds 3 liters of hydration with extra room for goodies.

Some of my must haves included pockets, wide straps and extra padding to prevent chaffing. It is on the bigger side. Not as small as some of the other hydration vests and packs I was looking at.

The 3 liter bladder has an easy to access twist opening. The hose pulls out for easy cleaning. The bite valve isn't to uncomfortable to use.

The pack itself is quite comfortable to wear. It has a 2 points to harness. Both adjustable, one on the chest and the 2nd around the ribbon cage. Again both being well padded. I did try it once ah natural (wearing just a sports bra) while hiking. I'm in Arizona so it's hot and sweaty. I didn't have any rawness or uncomfortableness. There are pockets that are accessible on the sides while  with the rib cage harness. They are zippered but they are large enough for my samsung s7 edge.  There is a compartment on the bag with a vertical zipper. Enough room for snacks, extra batteries, headlamp, tp ect.

Again, the size is a bit bigger than what others use but I can swap out the 3 liter bladder for something smaller if I want.

It carried me through my night trail run this past month. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Super happy and well priced under 100.00
